Roundtable on the Tourism and Interterritorial Communication

The Roundtable on the Tourism and Interterritorial Communication will take place within the framework of the Second Russia-India Strategic Economic Dialogue on 10 July 2019 from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm.

The Roundtable is organized to explore and discuss the following topics: state policy and a regulatory regime, expansion of air communication between Russia and India, P2P and cultural exchanges, development of alternative tourism areas, including medical tourism and tourism associated with traditional Indian medicine, Ayurveda, yoga.

The meeting will be moderated by Zarina Doguzova, Head of Russiatourism. It is expected that speeches will be delivered by Interim Governor of St. Petersburg, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, representatives of Committee for Tourism Development of Saint Petersburg, the Federal Air Transport Agency, Aeroflot on the Russian side. Speakers on the Indian side will include representatives of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Yunani, Siddha and Homeopathy and others.

Prashant Chaudhary, Managing Director of Salvia Promoters, as an official representative of Visit Petersburg brand, will make a presentation entitled as The Visit Petersburg Offices in India as a modern tool for promoting a destination, developing cooperation and increasing tourist flows. Mr Chaudhary will share his experience of managing the Visit Petersburg office, will tell about its activities and oncoming initiatives, about collaboration with Petersburg colleagues and joint projects, and much more.

It is anticipated that the meeting will result in identification of measures for improving air traffic, including the implementation of relevant state policy when necessary; identification of sectors with unfulfilled potential for promoting tourism; the use of soft power and proposals for transforming Russia and India into tourist hubs.
